Eric R. Hanson
Founder and Executive Chairman
As founder and executive chairman, Eric Hanson is the visionary behind THM’s revolutionary open platform for market-driven healthcare services in the workers’ compensation space. Previously CEO and chairman of U.S. Strategies, Mr. Hanson has over 28 years of experience guiding companies through the complexities of the U.S. Congress and a variety of government agencies. Under his leadership, Mr. Hanson was instrumental in the founding of the sub-acute care industry working closely with Integrated Health Services. As an investor and venture capitalist, he served on the advisory board of Acacia Venture Partners and was an early investor in Amerigroup, sold to Anthem, and Select Medical Corporation. Eric also commercialized the 340B pharmacy program by partnering with the National Association of Community Health Centers.
CEO and Founder of Rising Medical Solutions
As CEO and founder of Rising Medical Solutions, Jason Beans has built a proven framework to increase the cost effectiveness and quality of medical care. Prior to Rising, he was the national director of property and casualty operations at Concentra and previously held several management positions with its predecessor, CRA Managed Care. He was previously a founding principal of medical management consultancy BND Operations Company. He serves on several boards of directors in the insurance and managed care industries and is an inductee into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. Mr. Beans graduated from the MIT/EO Entrepreneurial Master’s Program and holds a degree in finance from Boston College.
Lead Independent Director
As lead independent director, Jonathan Palmer serves as the lead director of our board of directors and is an accomplished financial services industry veteran executive with deep leadership experience in both public and private companies in technology-based customer sales and service, consumer and commercial banking, health care benefits administration, and electronic payment processing. Beginning his career in the financial services industry with Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia (now Wells Fargo Bank), Mr. Palmer rose over 20 years with Fidelity to the rank of vice chairman, with leadership responsibility for much of the bank’s business operations. Prior to that appointment, Palmer also served as CEO of Fidelity Bank Delaware, one of the first special purpose credit card banks established in Delaware. Mr. Palmer has subsequently been in senior leadership positions at early stage companies, Wellspring Resources (an employee benefits administration outsourcing firm), Vital Processing Services (a merchant credit card transaction processor) and Lucid Security (a provider of computer network intrusion prevention technology). From late 2005 until September 2010, Mr. Palmer was president and CEO of FSV Payment Systems, a Houston-based company that became a recognized leader in prepaid debit program development, program management, and processing. During his five year tenure at FSV, the company grew top-line revenue ten-fold to more than $40 million, achieved profitability, and further achieved a position of prominence in its industry. Mr. Palmer obtained a Bachelor of Arts in applied mathematics from LaSalle University and a master of business administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Gerald M. Ostrov
Senior Vice President, Head of Clinical Development and
Medical Affairs in the Specialty Care Business Unit at Pfizer
As senior vice president and head of clinical development/medical affairs in the Specialty Care Business Unit at Pfizer, Gerald Ostrov (also known as “Jerry”) leads the world’s largest research-based pharmaceutical company. Having served on the board of Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson and Ciba-Geigy AG, Mr. Ostrov has over 35 years experience in advising large pharmaceutical corporations, organization and associations, most recently the Cozi Group. Mr. Ostrov earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
Portfolio Manager of Talkot Capital
As a portfolio manager at Talkot Capital, Ian McBane has covered financial institutions, insurance, and related technology companies since 2008. Talkot is a Sausalito-based family office with a 20-year track record investing in both public and private equity. Over the last decade, Mr. McBane has overseen the private-to-public transition of numerous portfolio companies, including two insurance company IPOs. Prior to joining Talkot, Mr. McBane was a Research Analyst in the quantitative practice at ECONorthwest, an economics and finance consulting firm in Portland, OR. Mr. McBane has a B.S. in Economics and Finance from the University of Oregon, and an M.S. in Economics from Portland State University.

As a member of our Board of Directors, Munawar Ali is the President of AmWins Specialty Casualty Solutions, LLC. Mr. Ali has deep domain expertise in workers’ compensation and the structuring of sophisticated insurance products for carriers, self-insureds, and the public sector. Prior to AmWins, Mr. Ali, was President of MNA Insurance Services from 2010-2011, from 2007-10, President of Accretive Insurance Company, and from 2003-2007, Executive Vice President of Brown and Brown.
